The Arkham Sessions, Ep. 88: “The Killing Joke”

How could we not analyze the most controversial and divisive Batman story ever written?! Love it or hate it, The Killing Joke is one of the most influential and consequential books about Batman and his arch-nemesis, The Joker. In this episode, we discuss — and try to make sense of — the animated adaptation that was released July 2016.  As with all our episodes, we lift out the psychology and explain what’s accurate, and what’s simply not. This film is filled with psychological themes, from the introduction of a new relationship between Batgirl and Batman to the development of “insanity.” In fact, we tackle the very crux of this story by exploring whether the Joker was correct: Can having “one bad day” truly drive a person mad?  Listen below to this very special episode!
